How We Score
Transparent, community-driven methodology for rating proprietary trading firms
Community Score
The Community Score is the heart of PropFirmsScore. It's the single number that represents the collective experience of all traders who have reviewed a firm.
Reviews are inputs. Traders share their experiences across 5 categories. Community Score is the output. We aggregate all reviews into one transparent, easy-to-understand rating that helps you compare firms at a glance.
Community-Based Ratings
All scores on PropFirmsScore are aggregated from real trader reviews submitted by our community. We do not provide our own ratings or opinions. Our role is to collect, aggregate, and present community feedback in a transparent and useful way.
Review Components
Each review consists of five rating categories, all scored from 1 to 5 stars:
- Overall Rating:The trader's general experience with the firm
- Rule Fairness:How reasonable and achievable the trading rules are
- Rule Consistency:Whether rules remain stable or change unexpectedly over time
- Evaluation Process:The quality and fairness of the evaluation or funding process
- Support & Communication:Responsiveness and helpfulness of customer support
Score Calculation
The Community Score for each firm is calculated by averaging all published reviews for that firm. This is the primary metric you see throughout PropFirmsScore—it's what makes our platform valuable. Each rating category is averaged separately to provide granular insights.
Review Weighting (Planned)
In future updates, reviews will be weighted based on:
- Account age (older accounts carry more weight)
- Review history and activity level
- Verification status
Currently, all published reviews are weighted equally.
Confidence Levels
The reliability of a firm's score depends on the number of reviews:
- Limited DataFewer than 20 reviews (early rating)
- Moderate Data20-49 reviews
- Strong Data50+ reviews
Early ratings (fewer than 5 reviews): These scores are clearly labeled as "Early rating – limited data" throughout the platform. While they provide initial insight, they should be interpreted with caution as they may not represent the full community experience.
Status Badges
Firms are assigned status badges based on their community score:
- Mostly Positive4.0+ stars
- Mixed Reviews3.0-3.9 stars
- WarningBelow 3.0 stars
What We Don't Do

Moderation
Reviews are subject to moderation to ensure quality and authenticity. We may remove reviews that:
- Contain abusive or offensive language
- Are clearly spam or fake
- Violate our terms of service
- Are duplicate submissions
Transparency First
Our goal is to provide the most transparent and useful comparison platform for traders. If you have suggestions for improving our methodology, please contact us through our review system.
How Firms Get Listed on PropFirmsScore
PropFirmsScore operates with a community-driven listing system. Firms must receive sufficient community interest before they can be fully listed and rated.
Unlisted Firms (Community Voting Stage)
New firms start as "unlisted" and enter a community voting phase. During this stage:
- No star ratings or written reviews are allowed
- Community members vote 👍 (Yes) or 👎 (No) to signal interest
- Voting measures demand and relevance only, not quality
- The question asked is: "Should this prop firm be listed and rated on PropFirmsScore?"
Listing Criteria (Transparent & Strict)
A firm is promoted from unlisted to listed ONLY when all conditions are met:
- Minimum 200 👍 upvotesDemonstrates strong community interest
- Downvotes < 35%Downvotes must be less than 35% of total votes
- 7+ voting daysVotes collected across at least 7 different days
- Active statusFirm must not be closed or defunct
After Listing
Once a firm meets the listing criteria:
- Community members can submit 0-5 star ratings and written reviews
- The firm appears in comparison tables
- Ratings display "Early rating – limited data" until 5 reviews exist
- All ratings are clearly labeled "Based on X reviews"
Important: Voting does NOT influence star ratings. Ratings are based solely on user reviews after a firm is listed. No firm can pay to be listed or rated.
